Imola Pre-race Chat
Gotta say I am counting down the 'sleeps' until this race.
I have only done 2 laps of each of the cars at "a track", and hope to put some time iin on Sunday arvo to get used to the Seat, so far a very forgivi ng little package.

Yeah good fun Mod hey Flattop,
I'm planning on releasing some more info in relation to the Championship which I think most will like including an extension with some Aussie tracks added in
I'm just waiting to talk to Nib.

This Sunday I'll be practising Adelaide in a V8 for Monday night's round 3 of the V8 Championshipflattop wrote:.......hope to put some time iin on Sunday arvo to get used to the Seat....
The Imola WTCC race will be the following Monday night, the 22nd.
We do WTTC Championship between the V8's but it hasn't been included in the calendar, probably because most ppl(except me) know when the V8's are racing.
Dave, could you please include the date of the race in the topic title?

Sorry to add to the work load, I must be having another "grey moment" as I can't find the above link and the the original still has old dates....https://default-racing.forumotion.net/world-touring-car-championship-wtcc-08-entry-s-all-info-f5/wtcc-2010-championship-format-tracks-race-dates-t268.htm

Re: Imola Pre-race Chat
Sorry Flattop, Historix was the last series we ran before the FVR V8 Championship began. There are other mods under consideration after the WTCC finishes, I'll try to find where they are.

Ive never done this track before ... nice flowing track ... but looks like its one where it will be easy to accidentally (or on purpose) curb hop.

Re: Imola Pre-race Chat
Yep your absoloutley right Punisher and after the Adelaide debacle this one will again be watched very closely, all it requires is to drive according to the track width so that 2 tyres stay on the black stuff.
I've heard that some drivers said they couldn't judge the width of thier car at Adelaide and that's why they had four wheels off the track.
Well congratulations to the 16 League 2 drivers including you Punisher who were able to judge the width of thier car, or maybe they just drove the corner at the correct speed.
Well Admin's Tuesday morning is going to be a busy one again.
I was just thinking about this and i'm sure you've all experienced it where you've just come into a corner too hot cut the corner and had the message displayed that the Lap will not Count, it would be great if rFactor had that parameter adjustable so you could move it accross to within say 3 feet (1 meter) in from the Ripple strip on every corner, that way if a drivers near side wheels crossed this Imaginary line it would mean that his off side wheels are on the ripple strip and not the track, In a race this could be issued with an automatic drive thru penalty. saving the Admin a lot of time and wouldn't drivers learn quick if they repeatedly had to do drive thru's

Re: Imola Pre-race Chat
Race 07/GTR Evo have this option....you get warned ...then next time you get a "stop &go" penalty...strange that rfactor has not got it.

Re: Imola Pre-race Chat
I think rFactor can have it..........but it has to be built into the track...comes down to how the track was made in the first place.
There is also a tool that will allow you to make your own cutting zones. If you want to give it a try here is the link.

Re: Imola Pre-race Chat
Yeah it just seems like an obvious tool that leagues would want to have available. If there's something out there Nib will know about it.

Just had a look at this and it seems pretty good, except that the creator said it took him 12 mths to get use to using it.

Re: Imola Pre-race Chat
Yeah!!!!!..........Thought I had read somewhere that there was a data base of tracks someone had started, and was encouraging those that use it to add to the database. but I can't seem to find the database.
I noticed that the addon had been removed from rFactor central,(that's where I first got it maybe 6 months ago) so maybe that's where I read it.

Re: Imola Pre-race Chat
This could be a great tool if we can have it do exactly what we need, which it apperars it will. Then the Admins can focus there valuable time toward making this an even better place to race, instead of spending hours watching replays in slow motion and pause frame.

Re: Imola Pre-race Chat
I agree it's a good tool but who is going to spent all the hours getting it to work? and as you said even the guy who made it took a year to get use to it. I'm sure once you got use to making the tracks cut points it wouldn't take that long.
