REVISED: WTCC 2010 Championship Format, Dates & Tracks
The FartCan WTCC Championship will commence this Monday night 22nd March. some very minor changes and the increase from 1 league to 2 Leagues have forced this move. Also the popularity shown by the No of entries means we will increase this to an 8 round Championship.
download WTCC here
Skin Pack will be released here shortly
The Format will remain the same other than the way we start the night, The usual format since I started the Clan has been at 8:30pm we would have a 10 min practice. No idea why i did that anyway that's now gone for all Mods, the Servers are open 24/7 so plenty of practice time is available to all and they are open for practice up until 8:30pm on Race night.
Time Format
8:30pm Drivers Briefing
(On completion of Drivers Briefing all drivers move to thier respective League rooms on Ventrillo for Qually & Race)
8:35PM Quallifying
8:45pm 5 Min Break (allow stragglers to join)
8:50pm Start Race 1 15min
9:05pm Break 10 Min (Allow Admin to do Weights & Reverse grid)
9:15pm Start Race 2 15min
9:30pm Break 10 min (Allow Admin to do Weights)
9:40pm Start Race 3 15min
9:55pm End of Official Racing.
Drivers who wish to hang around can go to one room and do some adhoc racing or practicing. while the early starters can still be in the Burra by a reasonable time.
Parc Ferme will be used in this series, so basically when you go out for Quallifying Laps you will need enough fuel to do the Qually laps plus enough for the race, Once you've set a Quallifying time nothing including fuel can be changed before race start, this will add another dimension as drivers will have to Quallify thier cars in race trim.
Race Format
RACE 1:
Qualifying: 10 min
Race 15 min
RACE 2:
Reverse grid from race 1 results and weight ballast to top half of the field
Race 15 min
RACE 3:
grid positions from race 2 and extra weight ballast to top half of the field
race 15 min
There will be no Compulsory pit stops for this Mod in the Sprint Races
1 Race nights of 1 x 15min & 1 x 60 min Race will also be run with Pit Stops in the 60 min Race
Imola.........................22nd March
Adelaide SIN...............5th April

Sweet, great work guys.
Got a question regarding the longer races (1 x 15 min & 1 x 60 min). Is the second race in this case reverse grid, and are there weight penalties?

RS, there appears to be a date missing, next week's race, have a look at the Calender which I believe is the definitive list.

Re: REVISED: WTCC 2010 Championship Format, Dates & Tracks
Just noticed that monday night at Imola it apears we are running 3x15mns races. With more then 2mns per lap it means will be doing just only 3 laps per race!Should we maybe run them longer or even do the enduro race?

I noticed on the server it has ANTI LOCK BRAKES, TRACTION CONTROL and STABILITY CONTROL enabled. Is this the 'GO' for the series ?

Yea, Ive had a bit of a play with and without helpers, and I think the helpers actually slow you down.

I noticed Donnington Park on the track-list, didn't we have issues with that track when we first tested this mod?

Re: REVISED: WTCC 2010 Championship Format, Dates & Tracks
I didn't think there where any problems...What were they? I do know there is a little graphic glitch where the car tilts into the road though.
Re: REVISED: WTCC 2010 Championship Format, Dates & Tracks
I couldn't think what it was, but now I remember the dip in the track was very distracting. I thought there was another problem but we'll find out in practice in 6 or 7 weeks.

Re: REVISED: WTCC 2010 Championship Format, Dates & Tracks
Guys can i make a suggestion to run perhaps half of the weight in the reverse grid, I thought maybe starting from 50 or 60 kg would be better for these cars as they are to hard to handle with a lot of weight and it takes a bit of fun out of the race. The V8's handle the weight ok.
We might as well race with a caravan on the back.

I've just run some laps there and it seemed fine infact good fun,, The A1 were also stable which is a good sign. Might stick it up for a day or so on the server after Imola to see whay everyone thinks, may behave differently in races. but it aint a Honda track.
