Post race Chat Imola
My apologies for holding everyone up Tonight, Would of loved to have raced but the gremlins got in somewhere, even the CD tray open wouldn't work. ( Special mention to Jimbob for that one)
Thanks for being patient guys and allowing me to try & try again. I look forward to the race reports. Good Luck all.

Re: Post race Chat Imola
i had a shocking start, and it didnt get much better than that, only lasted half hour before binning it into the entry to pit lane, (9 hours of driving in wet and windy conditions took to much out of me to get consistant laps done on this track

Re: Post race Chat Imola
That was a fun race, all drivers competing in good spirit, with little or no contact that I can recall. Most of us made mistakes and/or had some sort of mechanical damage. Congrats to RS2000, Adnan and Ash, and very well done all who finished. Commiserations to those who didn't get to finish and Dave, who didn't get to start.(we gotta find a fix for that)
I got off to a great start but soon realised I hadn't re-set my wheel for the re-start and with little or no ffb I spun out on lap 5 and had to make an early pit-stop for repairs, steering-wheel re-set, fuel and I also switched from medium to hard tyres. I then found myself in 10th so I had to put my head down and reel off consistent laps to get back up the order.
After an hour I was in 4th with a pretty good lead on Tas in 5th when I lost brakes on front left, causing it to pull right under brakes. Just as I adapted to that the other front brake failed so I had to last another 25 minutes 'til the finish using a bent nail for anchors. I tried pitting for repairs but my pit crew just stood around scratching their heads and I also forgot to put fresh rubber on while I was in there. The rear brakes heated up quickly every time I used them so I had to mainly use the gears with only occasional help from the near useless rear brakes, and the 40 laps old tyres didn't help the situation.
After what seemed an eternity, I managed to finish in 5th, it looked like Zalmas might have caught me when there was 15 min left but his brakes failed too and fortunately I'd built up enough lead on Holdfast.
This is a great series with plenty to consider when working out a race-plan and altering it as the race develops. Far from being a negative factor, the mechanical damage only added interest to the latter part of the race, and the decision about which endurance package to use was critical for some of us.
I'm certainly not disappointed that my brakes failed long before others in the same car with the same package, its taught me that my braking technique needs improving. I'll work on it before the next Dumans race and with better braking my times in other mods might be faster.
Looking forward to the next challenging race as always. (I'd love to see another 8-10 drivers out there.)

That was the longest race i ever did on my own and what a challenge! Again the racing was fantastic, had a great battle trying to catch Ash after i got a bad start from midfield. Well done to RS, you were much quicker and more consistent than the rest of us.
After the race when i got up out of my chair, my legs felt like jelly, i nearly got blisters on my palms amd my hands felt like i had masturbated for an hour! There's a thought.....

Yer Was a great race
As Adnan said we had a great battle for what must have been about an hour!
I lead for a few laps which was a highlight for me.
Thanks all for racing and look forward to the next round

Had a great time guys, shit myself when I lost the front right brakes with a lap and a half to go, had a lead on Adnan but had no idea how much time I'd lose without brakes. Great work Ash and Adnan, and well done to everyone who went the distance. It's a real challenge to keep the mind focussed over the whole race.
+1 on getting more guys out, this mod is great fun and even better with more guys out there, it also has a big effect on strategy. Roll up roll up guys, its a blast!

Just wanted to make a special mention of Barney who is coming 3rd outright after 2 rounds and is running a GT car!!!!!
Just shows in this series consistant laps in a slower car you can still do well
Ash

Re: Post race Chat Imola
thanks for the confidence boost, a bit more luck than skill i think,
but i do love driving these things, and even though i am a ford man, the sound of the corvette in full song could keep driving for hours.
