Driver Swapping

Here's an article i found on driver swapping, will come in handy down the track i'm sure

How it works: 2 x Drivers we'll call them Driver 1 & Driver 2

The basic flow is Driver 1 joins the game in the normal fashion, goes right thru and commences driving.
Driver 2 Opens rFactor gets to the point where the car is revolving on the turntable, go to the CONNECT button then the SETTINGS button and from the displayed Menu change SPECTATE to ON now enter the game to the MONITOR screen (When entering as Spectator your name will not appear in the list of Drivers) in the list of Drivers find your team mate and click on his name, Now click on RACE bottom right corner of screen, you'll now be viewing your team car, now press P on the keyboard you'll see a message telling you that you are now riding with (Driver 1),

THE DRIVER CHANGE
PIT STOP

Driver 1 enters the pits with fuel and Tyre strategy set and the Pit Menu window displayed on the screen, It is reccomended to commence the Pit Stop before driver change otherwise the fuel & Tyre settings may be lost. So as soon as the stop has started Driver 1 scrolls down the Pit Menu to the bottom where his name will appear using the keyboard Arrows ( Left & Right) scroll accross to Driver 2 Name, a message will come up for the driver saying "you will lose control in.." counting down to the actual driver swap, and the Passenger will see a similar message saying they will gain control in ... At the end of the countdown the driver will become a passenger, and the passenger takes over as driver. Driver 1 can go and have a Coffee or a Fag or both until his next stint is due, to change back again just follow the same procedure for the Pit Stop.



Key Mappings:
1 keys are used to accomplish the driver swapping procedure the default key mappings are P for You will need to check your own key mappings and ensure you have it mapped, it's also recmmended to remap the key to something other than P (I use E) as P will give you an annoying "you cannot puase a multiplayer event" message each time you press it.

We wont be doing hotswaps!!! Driver changes will be done in the pits.

Join the game the same way as above. but the driver change will happen through the pit menu. Scroll down the pit menu until you find your name then press left or right arrow keys to change the driver name. The drivers name that is showing will take control when the pit has finished. You will get a message..you will gain control in....seconds or you will lose control in ...seconds.

What are we swapping for?

We are looking at POSSIBLY running a Xmass Enduro on 14th December with Driver Swapping. we'll have to see if it's a popular idea. We can only get 8 cars for a Championship series so I think a teams race might be a little ambitious at this stage.

Like Dave said we are looking at running an enduro with teams and driver changes possibly the FVRV8 mod 'cause we seem to get more numbers . BUT we do need numbers. We could also ask other Teams or Clans to enter.
