FCRLMS Dumans enduro series Info
Hi All
Fart Can Racing Le Mans Series
This series follows various Grand AM, ALMS FIA GT, Super GT and Australian GT races through 2010.
Its using the Dumans series with the following classes:
FCR Pro Cup: LMP1 cars.
If you have finished 5th or better in either the FCR V8 championship or Porsche cup championship (outright championship not the single races) you are considered a pro driver and have to run this class.
FCR GT Cup: Using GT1 cars
(Class is for newer drivers not pro drivers) also if you have finished in the top 10 in a FCR championship you should run LMP1 although you can still run with the gentlemen racers if you like.
Points to be awarded to each class and there will be an outright champion as well (so even a GT car can win outright)
Events as follows: (all on the second Thursday night of each month)
Feb 11.........Daytona........................2hr enduro
Mar 11.........Sebring..........................1hr 45 min
April 8..........Yas Marina.....................2 x sprint races
May 13.........Laguna Seca.................1hr 45min
June 10........Lemans ........................2hr
July 8............Spa.............................. 2 x sprint races
Aug 12..........Suzuka.........................1 hr 45min
Sep 9.............Road adlanta ..............1hr 45min
Oct 14............Bathurst......................2 x sprint races
Nov 11...........Interlagos....................2 x sprint races
Dec 9..............Non Championship at Norshif......2hr
Qualifying for races is to be 25mins with first 12 min for GT cars with a 1 min break to allow GT cars to pit and LMP cars to go on to track and second 12 min for LMP cars
Points as follows for classes:
1st 20, 2nd 16, 3rd 13, 4th 10, 5th 8, 6th 6, 7th 4, 8th 3, 9th 2, 10th 1
In the enduro you have to finish to get points and its +40 points for enduro
In FCR style it will be fixed setup for all cars.

i love your idea id be up for that, very nice idea ash, . i think it would be better if we did it the other way around, to give the younger guys a chance to win (outright race) and improve. and have the qualifying like phillip island, the 2 sessions,so say 10 mins, with ONE Qf race to determine the grid. then the actual race.
LMP1 cars-newer guys
LMP2-(open to all except pro drivers)
GT1-Gt2-Pro drivers, and those who finished 5th or better in a FCR series.

Love that concept Ash, I reckon that would be a real winner, Yeah fastest guys in fastest cars racing for the outright Pro Championship that's how it should be.
At my age i dont have the reactions or concentration levels to drive the LMP car for long periods. but I can still compete in a lower championship,
(Something for Everyone) dont know some of these tracks but the one's I do know should be perfect for these cars.
Love it, It's got my vote, and we can still run the Monday Champiuonships ie, V8 Supercars, WTCC, FN2007 etc, etc.

The DUMANS mode is fantastic and i love enduros u have my vote good thinking Ash.Just concider that there are a lot of new drivers that did not complete any of the previus series including my shelf mabe there could an alternative way to rate who goes in what category.Mayby a couple of prolimenary races on the actual DUMANS categories to give a chance to every one to prove themshelves.

Re: FCRLMS Dumans enduro series Info
Hi Zal
Yer I think a qualifying event is a great idea. maybe not this thursday but next we could have some runs at a track that most off us know (like phillip island) and we can all run what we would like to run. Maybe for the pro cup if you can lap within a certain % of the fastest time on the night you are eligable?

I think if we are all on the same category of cars like LMP1 or AMERICAN GT for instanse it would easier to evaluate and on the same setup goes with out saying. Philip island sounds good it suits these type of cars and i think everybody knows this track well.

Re: FCRLMS Dumans enduro series Info
Yer I think for the testing perpose that would be good although some people are happy to run GT and dont want to run LMP at all so they can just stay in the gts when we run the lmp so that would help to get a feel for the on track speed difference etc.

Also Zal have you run this mod in a previous league? if so I might have to grab you on vent one night as I want to put together some sort of car guide so people have a better understanding of the differences between all the cars in the classes.

Re: FCRLMS Dumans enduro series Info
Great idea Ash. There are usually 2 or 3 groups of cars that split with really fast guys at the front and a bunch at the back. Good idea to give the fast guys the fast cars as they also have to battle thorugh on lapping the slower guys, us slowies would be like hazards, hehe. Sounds great, I'm just not sure I could comit to racing both Mondays and Thursday for an extended period of time so I like the fact you have only 1 race per month!

Re: FCRLMS Dumans enduro series Info
I'd race the LM-P1 or 2, if illegible, but not the GT classes, I prefer the GT's in other mods, I don't find the ones in this mod fun to drive so I don't like practising in them.
Q 1 - would we stay in the same class for the whole season?
Q 2 - would changing classes be performance-based or personal choice?
Q 3 - how do we maintain even numbers racing in all classes?

Re: FCRLMS Dumans enduro series Info
HI Rims
Yer I had a look at the results and cause you have finished top 5 you would be a LMP1 driver
If you could put a link to thee amirican site that would be great and I will check it out.
Q1 yes you stay in your car for the whole season
Q2 not quite sure what you mean by this one?
Q3 I dont thnk we need totally even numbers as I think the lmp1 and 2 car are going to be pretty close and as there a 4 championships in one race (gt, LMP1 , lmp2 and outright) even if you only have 4 cars in your class you will still have an overall championship to be in aswell. I would like to think with the new server hopfully we can get a decent amount of cars running 20-26 so we should get a pretty good spread and if for eg we only get 2 lmp2 cars we can decied if we should drop and just have lmp and gt classes.

Re: FCRLMS Dumans enduro series Info
Q 2 was only relevant if the answer to Q1 was "no"
Also, I think that a lot of the guys who joined since I got 5th are faster than me so I'd be happy to drop down to LMP-2.

Re: FCRLMS Dumans enduro series Info
I thought that might be the case with Q2
Man that does sound serious . yes if you could post some info that would be great.
yer Im not sure about the lmp1 and 2 class I think some qualifying races might be better than just saying you have to run lmp1 as there are so new fast guys that probably should go straight to lmp1. so I think if we run some practice nights like this thursday we can get a better idea of who will be where.

Re: FCRLMS Dumans enduro series Info
Hi Ash
This series sounds great, but it doesn't seem like too many are passing comment on it, I think the best thing to do at this stage is to find out the level of interest, I think you mentioned last Thursday only a handfull of guys showed up, so I think maybe open it to registrations and see how much interest there is before you commit more of your time, I'll put up a sticky for Guys to Register thier Interest and hopefully we can get the numbers either way it'll let you know whether to keep going with it. Great work so far well done, I hope this gets going should be a real fun series.
